St. Charles Furniture and Household Goods Drive
Mark your calendar for the St. Charles furniture and household drive, Saturday, May 20th. Items may be brought to the church parking lot between the hours of 9 am and 12 pm. Please pack fragile items for transportation. Volunteers will be there to assist with loading.

We will accept the following:
Mattresses (clean, not torn), dressers, kitchen tables and chairs, couches (no sleeper sofas), living room furniture, lamps, kitchen utensils and cookware, small working appliances, dishes (please pack for transporting).

Sorry, we cannot accept the following:
Ripped or stained items, clothing or shoes, knick-knacks or decorations, major appliances, televisions, VCRs, stereos, head and foot boards, cribs or high chairs, china cabinets, or entertainment centers.

Borromean Mailing—Help Needed!
Any and all are welcome to help with the mailing of our seasonal newsletter. Donuts, fruit, and coffee will be provided. Come for an hour or until the task is done! We will be working in teams, some taping/tabbing and some labeling. Meet us in Doran Hall right after the 8 am Mass on Monday, May 22!

Blood Drive
Help supply some of the 700 –800 units of blood needed EACH day in Minnesota hospitals! Did you know that one blood donation can help save three lives? St. Charles will sponsor a blood drive for Memorial Blood Bank, Monday, May 22, from 2–7 pm in Doran Hall. To reserve a time that best meets your schedule, sign up online at www.stchb.org/blood_drive_registration or call the Parish Nurse, MaryAnne Frank, at 612-787-1182. Supper will be provided.

St. Anthony Village Chamber Choir
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church is delighted to serve as the host venue as the St. Anthony Village High School Chamber Choir performs their final concert of the school year:  The 2017 Chamber Choir Senior Concert.
The concert will be held on Tuesday, May 23, at 7:30 pm and is free of charge and open to the public.
We want to extend a welcoming invitation to our local community to come and hear the gifted voices of the Chamber Choir. Hope to see you there!

Timothy Wratkowski to be Ordained
It is with tremendous thanks to Almighty God that we announce the ordination of our parishioner Timothy Wratkowski to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. Along with his nine classmates, Tim will be ordained by Archbishop Hebda in the Cathedral of St. Paul on Saturday, May 27, at 10:00 in the morning. All are invited to this great celebration of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Fr. Wratkowski will celebrate his Mass of thanksgiving at St. Charles at 10 am on Sunday, May 28, after which there will be a reception to which all are invited.

Tim is the son of Tom and Renee Wratkowski and has been a member of St. Charles Borromeo all his life. He attended our grade school, Totino-Grace High School, St. John Vianney College Seminary at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, and finally was sent to complete his theological studies at the North American College in Rome, obtaining his degree at the Pontifical Gregorian University. After ordination, Fr. Wratkowski will be temporarily assigned to a parish of the Archdiocese for the summer and then return to Rome to complete his graduate studies.

Please pray for Fr. Wratkowski and his classmates as they begin priestly service and continue to pray that the Lord send many to work in His vineyard. 

V.I.P. Club Spring Luncheon
The V.I.P. Spring Luncheon will be Tuesday, June 6, at the Ramada Inn (1330 Industrial Blvd., Minneapolis). Entrée: chicken breast, pork chop, or tilapia. Cost: $25. Social at 11:30 am with lunch at noon. To RSVP, contact Dottie at 612-781-3947. 

Morning Prayer Invitation!
We begin Morning Prayer of the Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours) at 7:30am, Monday through Friday. You do not need to make an everyday commitment to join.  Call Christine Shannon at the parish office, 612-787-1181, or just join us in the front pews of church at 7:30am.

Catholic Watchmen Rally

Men are invited to the Catholic Watchmen Rally. Fr. John Echert will speak on Fathers Leading Families in the Faith: The Biblical Perspective Applied to Today. Natural Family Planning Classes - May Schedule by Vicariate 1, 2, and 3
A series of Natural Family Planning (NFP) classes will begin soon in your community or a community near you! This Church-approved method is scientific  and marriage-building. The classes teach couples how to achieve or postpone pregnancy, while embracing the beauty of God's gift of sexuality. A series of classes taught by a qualified instructor. Archdiocesan Marriage Day Celebration
Archbishop Bernard Hebda invites you to celebrate the beautiful mystery of the mutual self-gift between a man and woman in the Sacrament of Matrimony on Saturday, June 3, 10 am, at the Cathedral of Saint Paul, for Mass, renewal of vows, and a short reception. Couples celebrating their silver, golden, and platinum anniversaries will be honored in a special way and are invited to attend. Families and friends of all couples are welcome! Couples married one or more year may request a commemorative certificate signed by Archbishop Hebda. St. Joseph Church, Rosemount, & Dakota County Master Gardeners Present Seed Saving

FEMM--Women's Health Program

Learn about FEMM--Fertility Education and Medical Management--the women's health program that revolutionizes how we talk about women's health, and the way doctors and patients approach wellness. This educational event is being offered for the first time in our archdiocese. It is for NFP providers, CMA Guild and Curatio members, crisis pregnancy centers, and anyone interested in women's health. Widow's Day of Reflection

Quo Vadis Camp for Young Men--July 9-12
Quo Vadis Camp for Young Women--July 16-19

The Office of Vocations has opened registration for the first annual Quo Vadis Summer Camp being held at Saint John Vianney College Seminary on the University of St. Thomas campus. It will run from early evening on Sunday through the early afternoon on Wednesday. The camp will include Mass, prayer, talks, confession, rosary, and lots of fun and recreation! Quo Vadis is a camp experience to learn that nothing is more important than discovering God's will for your life--and living it! Catechetical Institute to Offer Ongoing Formation Classes

This fall, the Archbishop Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute will begin a two-year course in two different locations. Classes will be held at Mary, Mother of the Church in Burnsville on Monday evenings and at the Church of St. Andrew in Elk River on Tuesday evenings. Taught by some of the best instructors in the Twin Cities, such as Bishop Andrew Cozzens, Jeff Cavins, Deacon Joe Michalak, Fr. John Lockeman, Dr. Bill Stevenson, Fr. Peter Williams, Christina Smith, Alyssa Bormes, and more, the program follows the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and will make sense of all things Catholic, deepen your faith, and lay out the road map to heaven. The classes are divided into four eleven-week modules, with two Saturday morning formative sessions per module. Greeters Needed! We’re looking for joy-filled parishioners of all ages to serve as greeters. Come be a welcoming presence at the Church doors, greeting and opening doors for your fellow parishioners. Call the Parish Office: 612-787-1180.

Join the Choir! Our church offers many opportunities to raise your voice in thanks and praise to God. There is a place for you, no matter what your age or ability. If you are new to town or to the church, this is an excellent starting point. We are proud of our music program, and we are eager for you to join us.
