About Women's Council
The St. Charles Women's Council is committed to forming disciples of Christ who, like the women in the Gospel, minister to the person of Christ in worship and prayer, and share in His mission of drawing others to the Father through service--first within our own families and community, and then to those in need outside our parish doors. We usually have meetings on Tuesday nights from September through May, to bring women of all ages together to forge new friendships and strengthen our council's mission.
We identify ourselves as daughters of Mary, the first disciple of Christ, and see our work in the light of the Church's New Evangelization, the timeless mission of making Christ known and loved.
The Women’s Council sponsors many activities such as the Evening of Recollection for Women during Lent, and a Family Fun Night in February. We provide monthly drivers for Dinner Bell/Meals on Wheels, support the local Food Shelf, sponsor a hat and mitten collection and bake sale in February, offer hospitality at Sunday Donut Socials, volunteer at Feed My Starving Children, and the Honor Guard members pray the rosary prior to parish funerals. We also provide service to many parish activities, priest receptions, Corpus Christi Ice Cream Social, and fall and spring fundraising events. All women of the parish are members; a small fee of $5 payable in the fall helps cover the cost of our events and socials. (This fee is not required to participate in our meetings or events.)
The Women’s Council is very excited about the opportunities we provide St. Charles parishioners and invite all women of the parish to become involved.
Church of St. Charles Borromeo's Women's Council provides a connection with the Church community and the wider Church through the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women.
